As a little kid my Dad had a collection of National Geographic magazines and whenever I wanted some ideas for something to draw I would dig through those and find all the ones that had any tropical pictures in them. The one I liked the most was the issue on Rapa Nui. The Moai instantly became a fascination of mine and a source of inspiration.
